Dataline, Amazon Web Services (AWS) Successfully Test Cloud Computing With US Navy
Dataline LLC and Amazon Web Services (AWS) successfully demonstrated a secure cloud computing architecture during the Navy’s Trident Warrior Lab Period. The test showed that a standard shipboard communications infrastructure could be used to manage Amazon’s Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) and Simple Storage Service (S3). The goal of the test was to validate that a commercial IaaS could support some specific Navy IT requirements.
U.S. Navy Awards Entegrion Contracts for $4 Million for the Development of Critical Blood Products
The U.S. Navy has awarded two additional contracts to the RTP, NC-based life sciences company Entegrion, Inc., for implementation of the company's proprietary technologies to improve the safety and availability of blood-derived products for treating combat injuries. Recent medical research has demonstrated that such blood component therapy is essential in responding to traumatic injury, especially on the battlefield. The base contracts total about $4 million, with an additional $2 million for expanded research.
