Serco to Provide Global Medical Systems Support Under $15 Million U.S. Navy Contract

Reston, VA (Vocus) October 14, 2009 -- Serco Inc. (www.serco-na.com), a provider of professional, technology, and management services to the federal government, announced today that the company has been awarded the Navy Expeditionary Medical Support Command (NEMSCOM) Deployable Medical Systems contract. Serco will provide NEMSCOM with medical logistics (www.serco-na.com) support. This new contract has a one-year base period plus four one-year option periods. The contract is valued at $15 million if all option years are exercised.

The company will be responsible for producing deployable medical systems (DEPMEDS) and maintaining biomedical and civil engineer end item equipment. DEPMEDS are used in the field for military, humanitarian and disaster relief operations anywhere in the world. Serco’s work will be performed at a Naval facility in Williamsburg, Virginia and the company expects to hire up to 30 new employees in the medical logistics field.
